The purpose of this blog is to provide an open forum for discussion of the aims of the society; news from the wider Church and details of Masses and events of interest in the diocese. Servers

I am delighted to report that we now have two more servers for our Masses in York. Matthew and Simon are both students at York University and have had some training as servers. They have now served twice at English Martyrs' and also once at St Chad's in Manchester. They went to St Chad's at the invitation of a friend who sings in the chior and were told that they might be able to help with the serving. A few minutes before the start of Mass, they realised that they were the only servers. You could say it was a baptism of fire, but they did very well.

We could do with more servers. There should really be four for a sung Mass with incense. Any men wishing to volunteer should contact Paul Waddington waddington@gooleboathouse.co.uk
